My skin has actually been doing awesome. If you jump onto my channel and look at my current videos, although I do have makeup on my skin is 100 times better. Relief! I am still on the Obagi NuDerm system, but I no longer use the Retin-A or hydroquinone. I do use my dr. prescribed Finecea daily for maintenance and I still get minor breakouts but nothing like before. I also use a clay mask by Decleor twice a week :).
Can ya plz tell me how many lyres ya use on ur face like do ya use the whole bottle in same day an??!
Hi there, I actually had the peel done by my dermatologist. I believe a peel this strong should be done by a dermatolist or esthetician. However, there are over the counter peels that you can do yourself, but results may not be as dramatic. I know there's an over the counter peel called the brazilian peel that works well. Thanks so much for watching.
Can ya plz tell me how to apply the peel like do ya use the whole bottle in same time an how many lyres ya do on ir face.

The VI Peel is a medium depth peel only administered by a Dermatologist or MedSpa. If you google VI Peel and look on their website you can located the closest Dr. or MedSpa that does it by you...
Hi! Really enjoyed seeing your video. Very helpful indeed. Its my day 1 and i just cleaned face with the wipe we get. My face is soo itchy. I wanted to ask if its okay to apply to apply the hydrocortizone cream I bought at the drugstore. I breakout easily so my dr recommended getting my own. But can not recall for the life of me if its okay to apply it on day one.Pls helpppp!!!!!
Thank you so much for watching! I am so glad you enjoyed. It did feel odd to make my YouTube debut showing my worse and most vulnerable side but that's what brought me to YouTube in the first place. When I started breaking out bad I had a hard time finding useful info, but I went on YouTube researching acne and found a lot of helpful info. Hopefully it helps people :). i got alot of scars but i got acne too does it make the acne u got go away after the first peel? and does the redness of the scars fade more after the first one? im plannen on doin about 4 but im just wondering. The first peel I had ended up shrinking some of the persistent acne that wouldn't go away, which I was happy about, I broke out a little after both peels but it was very minor and went away fast. I had a combo of red and brown scars and the peel removed the brown. The red marks faded but didn't go away-my dermatologist told me beforehand that laser vbeam would remove the red. I am using the Obagi skin system to continue to help fade the remaining marks. Hope this helps!
As well, I have continued to spot treat my cheeks with the original meds the dr. prescribed which are Clarifoam (a sulfur antibacterial topical) and Finacea (azelaic acid topical). I plan on doing a video soon reviewing some of the other skincare products that I've tried and didn't work and others that I like. Stay tuned! Thanks for watching!

I felt nauseous watching this. I could not do any of that at home. I really wan to fix my crazy skin. I saw another video and it scares me because of the burning. I don't what my skin would look like after. Or what would happen when I break out again and it leaves marks even though I do not pop them. I have a friend whose skin looks horrible and she has tried so many things but not this. Her daughter's skin out of nowhere just changed as well. She does not know what to do.
First of all you should not watch something that makes you feel sick but more importantly THIS IS NOT A DO IT YOURSELF AT HOME kind of procedure. There are other options and picking at acne is not the only reason for scars. Cystic acne can cause scars even if you dont touch the pimples. You need to see a good experienced dermatologist and have him or her work with your skin.
Thank you. I went to a dermatologist and she offered me all these creams in tubes. I am so lazy when it comes to a regimine of creams. I can take a lot of things but for some reason. I just feel like it hurts or will hurt later. Is this how the stars stay looking so young? I see Halle and Glen and I can't believe their age. You're welcome. Don't compare yourself to any celebrities or even your own cousins. We all have different genetics and its not all about the creams we use or the plastic surgery procedures. But a good skin care routine is very important in anti-aging. Make sure the dermatologist is good and not just trying to "sell" you creams!Whats going to happened with the enlarge pores?? Are they going to close? If not, Is there any procedure for enlarge pores? Thanks for the video :). enlarged pores can shrink after exfoliation by the peel but pores cannot be permanently changed. Thank you. Excellent & informative! I do TCA peels and agree...it's important to understand it takes 30 sec to over 1 min to feel the full burn and know what strengthto use and how to apply it (plus any co-morbids that may factor in).Very interesting video, thank you. I have a very faint (indent) scar on my nose from a skin graft. Dermarollers have been very good so far after 7 treatments and softened the scarring, plus somewhat raised it so the scarring is easily very low and more akin to acne scars in depth. Would this chemical peel be a good option to further reduce the scar?Thank you. I would have to see and examine you. Fractionated CO2 laser may be a better option or Dermabrasion but depends on your anatomy.
TCA Cross is also an option. The only way to tell if it would work better or not is to undergo the procedure. Ice Pick Acne Scars are extremely difficult to treat with any modality and often patients undergo various resurfacing modalities. TCA Cross would be a good next step for her.
I did not charge her for that. Did it FREE just because she didn't respond to the CO2 laser or Dermabrasion (which I also did FREE for her). Typically though a segmental resurfacing would be about $1800 for the surgeons fee and if done in the hospital there would be anesthesia and hospital fees as well.Question regarding hyperpigmentation: I am 23 and have dark marks (many around my chin) from years of acne, no pits/ice picks. What works best to even out skin tone? certain peels? I was prescribed Tazorac 0.01 already . Thank you!!
Hi Depends on your skin color and ethnicity. Retin-A and Hydroquinone are an important starting point with sun avoidance but VI Peels and 25-35% TCA peels or even IPL treatments may be options as well. I cannot tell you specifics without seeing and examining you.
Hi Dr Naderi, I have a question regarding Fraxel dual laser 1550. I did a treatment on November 19 of 2012. Since then my skin is darker. Its itchy, Looks rough. I feel that I have lost some fat on my face, and my skin frosts whenever I use a strong toner. My skin burn very easily since the laser. Is this condition going to get better by time or am I stuck with this for ever? I went to see my dermatologist and he doesn't admit it. I feel depressed and my self confidence is a bit lower.
Hi. Sounds like you got post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. You need to see a better Dermatologist or a Facial Plastic Surgeon and possibly get started on Retin-A and Hydroquinone if they think its a good option for you. It can improve but I see this frequently from over zealous Dermatologists who are quick to laser patients without proper "pre-treatment" or skin prep.
I am 54 and recently had a consultation with a cosmetic surgeon due to lower skin laxity. He recommended a TCA peel, fat injections in naso labial folds, tightening of platysmal bands. I was thinking a mini face lift. I am so afraid of the peel, but need something. Any advice for me???I, nor anyone else, cannot give someone advice that we have not seen or examined but you should usually see several good surgeons and not usually just take one doctor's advice until you are fully convinced.
thank.. hey i had acne in the past... now i just have very light pigmentatation... but my skin peels ... and its kinda red whenever i wash my face... mainly the cheeks... it could be the acne treatment ... if i leave it alone it crusts... if i peel its red and raw...so willl the peel work for me..or else i should just moisturise till it peels on its own??? help!!!
You have to be seen my a dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon. I cannot tell you what to do based on simple online descriptions. You need to be examined but you may have several options based on your description.i got small ice pick scars at my cheeks wat is the best treatment for this kind of scar ,,,,and can it fix 100 % the scars and how much can cost all the procedure. Depends on your skin color. 100% removal is often impossible but you should see an experienced dermatologist or plastic surgeon and be evaluated. Fractionated CO2 laser can also be an option but again depends on your skin color and type.
tanned skin is considered at least a FITZPATRICK 4 on the skin grading scale and this peel is too strong for that type of skin.
Is there a light effective peel for the bikini line...dealing with hyper-pigmentation? thanks in advance. 10-15% TCA peels may work but you should talk to a body plastic surgeon or a dermatologist since we only concentrate on the face at our practice. If I only have slight scars and brown face, wouldnyou recomend to do amchemical peel with less concentraded?I cannot tell you what to do without seeing you but if you have anything other than very white skin you cannot do any chemical peels that are strong enough for scars. Weaker chemical peels can help with texture and discoloration but not actual scars to any significant degree.Would this work for me? My acne made my nose lumpy & also on my cheek some but mostly it stands out on my nose would this get rid of it? Do you only have to do it once? This isnt for acne. Its for scars left behind by acne and it can only be done on very pale skinned women usually.Everything may look easy until there is a problem. It is the physician's experience and preparation and attention to detail and preventing post op problems and infection that helps people who have problems such as this. Thank you, Dr. for this very well done video. I am embarrassed for the comments suggesting otherwise. It clearly states at the beginning of the video what the sound is: melting snow and ice hitting the skylight! Why would someone use this method vs fractional co2? Wouldn't there be less risk and less exposure to fumes?Good question. There are many "resurfacing" methods and each have their own pros and cons. She had already had CO2 laser and back when she had her procedure, the fractionated CO2 laser was not commonplace. If we had to do it today, we would most likely offer her fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing. Phenol peels still have a role and place and work great for a variety of issues such as melasma, wrinkles, and scars. Thanks for the tips Dr. Naderi. I am currently in DO school and considering possibly specializing in plastic surgery down the road. Thank you for your informative videos. You'll realize that there are many morons that will troll all over your video, so just be prepared. Have a nice day.
Dr shervin 1 more final question, will this or ANY peel help rejuvenate the skin's natural glow due to dry/sun damaged dry skin and premature aging?
Yes. This peel works for that but may be overkill for many patients. A 35% TCA peel which is much weaker is often enough for rejuvenation purposes unless there is severe sun damage and photo aging and wrinkles.
It clearly states at the beginning of the video what the sound is: melting snow and ice hitting the skylight!
It clearly states at the beginning of the video what the sound is: melting snow and ice hitting the skylight!lol i think thats the same user trying to be a troll clearly suffering from ADHD very informational video good video :).
I don't understand why you didn't apply the chemical to the entire area of her cheek. I noticed there were more scars outside of the area you treated, and I wanted to say, 'hey, you're forgetting something over to the side, yoohoo'. Any reason for that?
Yes, the reason is she was awake and there is no way of totally numbing her entire face or even a wider area than what you see so the deepest scars were treated and the rest left alone.Good question. Most chemical peels are acidic or alkaline liquids that dissolve the top layer of skin and as new skin grows, it is usually better skin. This is why chemical peels can be dangerous if done by inexperienced people because the penetration can become too deep and instead of improving the skin scars or wrinkles, the skin can become horribly scarred much like a 3rd degree burn!thanks for that :) hmm maybe this is a stupid question, but, why phenol and not say a, carboxylic acid?
Great question. I will leave that for the biochemists and the pharmacists and lab scientists to answer. Not something surgeons or medical doctors fully understand.
Not sure this is something I would have done, but it was cool to watch! Too bad she didn't stick around for the after pictures. Would a laser completely get rid of her scars or would multiple treatment like the one you did do the trick? How often can you have phenol treatments? Thanks!
Thanks. She had already had lasers and dermabrasion. This was a last resort measure and it had very modest benefits if any for her. Ice pick acne scars are very difficult to treat. In any scar revision the goal is improvement not "completely getting rid of" as that may not be realistic even though it is possible in certain cases depending on the scar. Today, we use multiple fractionated deep CO2 laser treatments instead. 4-8 laser sessions may be needed. Phenol can be repeated too.How much does this procedure typically run? Is this recommended for someone with pustules and papules that does not want to consider accutane but want the acne and scars/hyperpigmentation gone?
Cost depends on areas being treated and if its done in the hospital with anesthesia or awake. More importantly this is not something you should do while you have active acne and its only an option once the acne has been resolved.
heyy umm ... im basically from the tropical zone and due to the sun there are like some dark spots on my face (acne scars tanned so bad ) will this help me get the clear face i want. Being from the tropics, your skin is most likely not pale white and this peel is not safe for tanned or pigmented skin.Good question. I know Fraxel can be done to stretch marks. But as a Facial Plastic Surgeon I don't deal with body stretch marks so I do not know the answer.so is it basically burning off the scarred skin and letting new skin grow in its place? this is so interesting.
